Off Again!!!!

As I get ready to embark on another mission trip, I am a little nervous this time!  I leave for Haiti in 5 hours.  I probably won't sleep tonight!  Not a good way to start, but that's what happens when your wife isn't going with you and doesn't organize and pack everything for you.  I am really excited to see how God works in the people of Haiti through us.  There are over 30 people going down for the next 10 days to work in Lifeline Christian Mission's clinic in Grand Goave.  Most everyone has been there multiple times, but this is mine and my nurse Janie's first trip there and first medical mission trip.  Thanks to all of our patients who brought medicines and money for the Haitian people!  Our garage sale last fall raised $1000 that went to buy antibiotics and other medicine to take down with us!  Thanks to my staff who will hold down the fort while Janie and I are away!  Please be praying for safety as well as opportunities to share Christ with the children we will serve!  Pray for wisdom for me as I treat diseases and conditions I have only read about in textbooks 10 years ago!  God is great!  I am thankful that he promises to give us wisdom if we only ask!  Believe me I have been asking!!!
I was struck today with the hopelessness people must feel without Jesus.  One of my patients is 5 years old and lost his mother to cancer a few weeks ago.  His father said that it has made it much easier knowing she is in heaven- having that hope to be reunited someday!  It still hurts, but only God can give that peace which surpasses all understanding!
Off I go!!!
